Counterfeit Signs and the Consequences of Seeking Them

Although I have sent this lesson before, it is about such a dangerous subject that I believe it is worthy of repeating.

Before there was the written Word of God, the Lord placed the story of His plan in the skies above us. The Lord named the stars (Psalms 147:4, Isaiah 40:26, Genesis 1:16) and those names tell the story. The story starts with “Virgo,” the Virgin mother of Jesus, and ends with “Leo,” or Jesus, the Lion of the tribe of Judah. It is the Story of Salvation in plain view in the heavens for everyone on earth. The constellations and stars actually tell the story of Jesus, our Savior.

Satan, the great counterfeiter, does not wish for this story (the Truth) to be known. To hide the story God placed in the stars, Satan changed the order in which it originally began and ended. He added false knowledge about what this all meant and astrology, control of your life by the stars, was born. As usual, Satan has taken something created by the Lord and twisted it for his own purposes.

This desire to have “special knowledge” (remember Eve?) through astrology/horoscopes is certainly appealing to our human side. However, the Lord does not have good things to say about diviners and those who consult them. “Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame.” (Isaiah 47:13-14) “And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul.” (Leviticus 20:6).

Not only is astrology a counterfeit of the story that the Lord presents in the heavens, it is one of Satan’s many gateways for drawing us into spiritualism and occultism. When we knowingly or unknowingly, even just for fun or curiosity, participate in occult things, (astrology, horoscopes, ouija boards, tarot cards, any material object representing paganism, etc.) we give Satan permission to enter our life.

As Christians, that means we override God’s divine protection, and use our free will to open doors to the occult. The world would laugh at our concern. However, the Apostle Paul admonishes us, “This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk . . . Having the understanding darkened . . . Neither give place to the devil.” (Ephesians 4:17-27)

Peter warns us to be self-controlled and alert because Satan, our enemy the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (First Peter 5:7-8) He is the prince of this world (John 14:30) and he and his demons constantly seek an opening into our lives.

Later Paul said, “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:11)

Please be assured this message is to all of us for as long as we are living in this world. It is something I have experienced first hand. I finally began to see the ignorance of the reality of “opening doors.” And, praise God, Christians can CLOSE those doors. Here is the condensed version as to how: (1) specifically and regularly go to God and reaffirm Him as Lord, (2) repent of sin, (3) receive His forgiveness, (4) forgive others, (5) renounce all (known/unknown) contact with the occult canceling any claims Satan has placed on us through any means, (6) receive release from the consequences of these known/unknown openings into our life, (7) then believe and thank God for His continued renewal and cleansing asking Him to guide you into all Truth so as to avoid, as much as possible, future occurrences.

If you have not accepted the free gift of Salvation from the Lord Jesus, this cleansing and forgiveness is also available to you. Please contact a minister of the Lord or contact me, today.

And always remembering, “greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world!” (First John 4:4) Praise His wonderful protecting Power and forgiving Grace. Praise the name of our Heavenly Father, the One whose love story is truly written in the stars.
