When viewed from the proper perspective, it is evident that the Bible is a symmetric document. That which was opened in Genesis (the sin of man, the corruption of the earth and the beginning of Mystery Babylon) is closed and reversed in the Revelation.
This symmetry is shown by the last words of Jesus on this earth. They were spoken to the Disciples and recorded in Acts 1:8. “. . . and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” What we are seeing today is the reversing of that statement. Just as the Good News spread out concentrically around the world, the focus is now returning to Israel, and specifically Jerusalem.
The Lord’s Plan has always included the people we now know as Jews from Genesis chapter twelve onward. The Plan spread concentrically from Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria to all the world. About one-hundred years after the Ascension of Jesus, the Romans had their fill of Jewish rebellion and deported the Jews of Jerusalem and Judea to the entire known world in 135 A.D. That process is reversing. The concentric rings are now getting smaller.
I believe the reversal began in 1517 when the Ottoman Turks pushed the Muslim Arabs out of what was then known as Palestine. It continued in 1917 with the Ottomans being pushed out by the British, and was advanced further when Israel again became a country in 1947-1948. In 1967 the Israelis took possession of the Temple Mount, the heart of Jerusalem and of the concentric rings of Jewish communities that still cover the earth.
We must view this focus on Israel and Jerusalem in the context of Psalm 83. In this psalm Asaph names the peoples currently living around Israel and in Psalm 83:4 prophesies their recent statements about the Jews, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.”
And we must remember the statement of Satan in Isaiah 14:3, “I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation.” Here Satan is speaking of Mount Zion. This explains the desire of the anti-Christ to sit in the Temple and declare himself to be god. This explains the actions of the United Nations and the world to divide and control Jerusalem. Satan is ruler of this world for yet a little while.
The world seeks to divide Jerusalem, and it appears that they will succeed. The Prophet Zechariah foretold a time when Jerusalem would be attacked, and half the city would go into exile. (Zechariah 14:2) Which half will be removed? I suspect it will be Jewish West Jerusalem, and Arab East Jerusalem will remain while the city is under the control of the armed forces of the world.
We are now possibly seeing the actions of Satan focusing on Jerusalem. The recent war by the Arabs attacked all parts of Israel with rockets. But now it appears that the focus is on Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. The Arabs and the world should beware; Mount Zion is the “apple of His eye.” (Zechariah 2:7-8)
Here is an Opinion from the Israel National News – November 24, 2014
“Like the proverbial loose thread on a cheap polyester suit, the pulling on Al Aqsa will ultimately lead to an unraveling of the whole Zionist enterprise. Make no mistake. This is the Palestinian strategic plan. The biggest mistake we can make is to ignore, to diminish it or deny it.”
The Battle of Jerusalem may have begun. It was so named by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after the murder of five Israelis by Arabs while they were praying in a synagogue on November 18, 2014. Prophecy indicates that this phase of the battle may result in Jerusalem being divided and under the control of a third party.
When I see the symmetry and concentricity of the actions of Satan and the world against Israel, Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, I am amazed at the patience of the Lord. The question in my mind is, “How long will He be patient?” The Day of the Lord must be approaching. “Even so, come Lord Jesus!” (Revelation 22:20)
