Some of my favorite subjects in the Word of God are the many patterns. Long-time recipients of my lessons will recall that I have written about Alphabetic, Menorah, Torah, Sabbatical, Numeric and Literary Patterns. They are everywhere and throughout the Holy Bible.
One of the easiest patterns to find is the Torah Pattern discovered by Brother J. R. Church, a preacher from Texas. As a reminder, the Torah Pattern is based upon the themes of the first five books of the Bible, known as the Torah or the Pentateuch. The themes are as follows:
Numeric Patterns are not based upon certain values of certain numbers as stated by occult numerology, but are based upon the consistent use of certain numbers in the Bible. It is easy to see this use, and here are some examples:
7 – the number of Completion – Creation was completed in 7 days
8 – the number of New Beginnings – Noah and his family, 8 people, began the human race again
10 – the number of Testimony – The Lord Jesus appeared to 10 groups of people after His resurrection as testimony that He was indeed alive
40 – the number of Testing – Jesus was tested in the Wilderness for 40 days
50 – the number of Redemption – land was redeemed and returned to the original owner after 50 years, also known as a Jubilee
There are more, but you get the idea.
I have discovered a fascinating combination of two different Biblical patterns, the Torah Pattern and the Numeric Pattern. I should not be surprised. Our omnipotent, all-seeing, all-knowing and wise beyond comprehension Heavenly Father probably has placed such designs and patterns in all the Bible. I say probably only because we are not wise enough to see them. I refer to these many designs, sometimes hidden and obscure, sometimes right there on the surface if you have the eyes to see, as the Fingerprints of God. His fingerprints are all over His Holy Word!
The Torah Pattern of one through five repeats itself through the chapters of many, if not all, books of the Bible. This design probably can be applied to other groups, like books of the Bible. Please click HERE to refresh your memory. What I discovered is a pattern multiplying the Torah Pattern by the consistent numeric usage of the number seven. Seven is the number of Completion.
In the Torah Pattern, the fifth book is Deuteronomy which is a summary of Israel’s departure from Egypt and forty years in the Wilderness. When this “five” of the Torah Pattern multiplied by “seven,” the number of Completion gives us thirty-five. The thirty-fifth chapters of several books of the Bible show a distinct pattern. Please read the following and be amazed!
It is interesting that books of history provided chapters showing completion of a particular era of Israel’s history, while the books of prophecy provided chapters showing prophetic completion of man’s rebellion against the Most High God.
There is much more to follow! This is further confirmation that the Bible is not a hodge-podge collection of myths and fables. The patterns, or fingerprints of the Most High God, are there to be found if you simply look. Praise His Holy Name forever!
