In school we were conditioned to believe that mythology was just that, a collection of myths. In reality, Jupiter, Hercules, and many others were worshipped as gods. In the Mesopotamian, Greek and Roman world view, these “gods” ruled the world. They were divine beings. They were believed to have descended from primordial deities. We view them as myths, as stories, but the more I see, the more I believe they were real. Scripture bears this out:
“There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.” – Genesis 6:4These “gods” were the “mighty men of old, men of renown,” the gods of old. They were worshipped by ancient pagans and were treated as gods.
The conditioning we received about mythology is changing. A new view is being disseminated to this generation by books and movies. In Godzillah, the King of the Monsters, these “gods,” beings so wicked that the Lord destroyed them in the Flood, are now being presented as the saviors of the world. This movie is not like the old Japanese monster films with poorly done animation. This film is well done and has high production values. And listen to the dialog from the movie:
“Our world is changing. The mass extinction we feared has already begun, and we are the cause. We are the infection. But like all living organisms the earth unleashed a fever to fight this infection. Its original and rightful rulers – the Titans. For thousands of years, these creatures have remained in hiding around the world, and unless all the Titans are found our planet will perish and so will we. They are the only guarantee that life will carry on.”Read that again! Remember who is the “father of lies.” Mankind is the “infection,” and these wicked beings are the world’s “only hope.” (?!?!?!?) These entities are not the original and rightful rulers, and they are not in hiding. They are being held in chains in Tartarus (the deepest abyss of Hell). Please see Jude 1:6 and Second Peter 2:4. The pagans are promoting the lie and a rebellious and unbelieving world will believe it.
“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.” – Second Thessalonians 2:11The first of Three Woes to those who dwell on earth during the Tribulation is found in the Revelation chapter nine. This first Woe describes the release, from the bottomless pit (the abyss), of terrible demonic beings whose leader is a fallen angel whose name means destruction.
Here is what happens: “And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it;” (Revelation 9:6) It will not go well for those who dwell on earth at that time.
This generation is being groomed to accept something supernatural. They are being conditioned to believe that these beings are beneficial. It is, of course, a lie. Satan will stop at nothing to destroy all of mankind. He hates mankind because we are in the image of God, whom Satan also hates.
The truth about the release of the demonic beings is this; “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved:” (Matthew 24:22)
Pray for the lost! I believe time is short. Praise the Lord for His mercy and grace!
