Astronomers tell us that the Sun is cooling and contracting. Of course, the Sun is very big and very hot and it will be a long time before it becomes a “white dwarf”, and later a “black dwarf”, a star that has ceased giving light and heat. Scientists estimate that it will be millions of years before this occurs.
Our brother, Chuck Missler (http://www.khouse.org) tells of an interesting discovery by John A. Eddy of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and High Altitude Observatory and Aram A. Boomazian (a mathematician with S. Ross Co. in Boston). These two scientists have determined, using information spanning 400 years, that the Sun is contracting at the rate of one-tenth of one percent per century. This is not quite like watching grass grow or paint dry, because the Sun is contracting at a rate of five feet per hour.
This determination by Messrs. Eddy and Boomazian presents no problem for those who believe the chronology of the Bible. Using information provided in the Bible, we are able to determine that mankind has been here on earth for about 6,000 years. (Please click HERE to see A Chronology of the Bible.) This is assuming that Adam was born in year 1. Using a combination of Bible dating and secular history, it has been determined that from Adam to Abraham was about 2,000 years. From Abraham to the time of Jesus was about 2,000 years. Of course, from the time of Jesus until now is about 2,000 years.
So the Bible indicates that human history has spanned about 6,000 years. According to Eddy and Boomazian, 6,000 years ago the Sun would have been six percent larger. It may have been slighter warmer, but mankind, plants and animals obviously survived until now.
Fifty or one hundred years ago, evolutionists were estimating that the Earth was as much as one million years old. As the years have passed, those estimates have grown astronomically. If we use the dating deemed necessary by evolutionists to prove their theory, we start having problems. One-hundred thousand years ago, using the determination of Eddy and Boomazian, the Sun would have been twice as big as it is now. That would be a definite problem for mankind, plants, animals and the ozone layer (remember that?).
If we progress to a date currently needed to explain the theory of evolution, you will see the impossibility. At the rate of contraction being discussed, 20 million years ago the Sun would have been touching the Earth. Obviously, nothing could have survived that situation. Actually, the Earth would simply not have existed because the gravitational pull of the Sun would have usurped the gravity of the Earth and it would have disintegrated and been pulled into the Sun.
Speaking of usurping, that is the intent of evolutionists or Bible revisionists of any type. By removing God the Creator from the picture, you eliminate any responsibility we have to our Heavenly Father. With no responsibility, there are no consequences. That is their goal. And many have conveniently bought that premise, as well as the theory of evolution.
But there is a God Who sees all and knows all. A Day is coming when He will require an accounting of all who have not been redeemed. Please see the Revelation 20:1-6 and 11-14. Those who were part of the First Resurrection (Revelation 20:5-6) will not be included in the judgment as described in this passage. Praise God for His Plan and His great mercy!
