The small Book of Jude is the next to last book of the Bible, found just before the Revelation. Jude could be considered an introduction to the Revelation because it is about apostasy. While Jude was a half-brother of the Lord Jesus (same mother, different Father), in his humility he describes himself as a servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James, another half-brother of Jesus.
This very small letter (twenty-five verses) importantly validates the supernatural statements of Genesis 6:4, and also the Book of Enoch, which was found among the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Thanks to our Brother, Chuck Missler, we find that the structure or outline of Jude forms a chiasm as follows.
1 Assurance for Christians (vss. 1-2)
2 The Believer and Faith (vs. 3)
3 Apostates are described (vs. 4)
4 Apostasy in Old Testament history (vss. 5-8)
5 Apostasy in the Supernatural (vss. 9-10)
X A trio of Apostates (vs. 11)
5 Apostasy in the Natural (vss. 12-13)
4 Apostasy in Old Testament history (vss. 14-16)
3 Apostates are described (vss. 17-19)
2 The Believer and Faith (vss. 20-23)
1 Assurance for Christians (vss. 24-25)
I encourage you to study the Book of Jude. Sometimes big surprises come in small packages. And may Judes big half-brother, the Lord Jesus come soon!
