The Attack on Marriage

The Lord Jesus in His discussion of the Last Days with the Disciples used the illustration of the Days of Noah and the Days of Lot. (Luke 17:22-29) He told the Disciples (and us) that the Last Days would be like the times of these two men.

In the times of Noah, the Sons of God “married” human women and produced hybrid offspring described as “giants,” or Nephilim in Hebrew. (Genesis 6:4) Today, man is experimenting with hybridization of humans with other species for the purpose of a stronger, smarter man. Science has admitted to some astounding results. It raises the question of what they have achieved that they have not told us about.

In the times of Lot, homosexuality was prevalent. When the two angels came to Sodom to warn Lot and his family, all the men, young and old, gathered around Lot’s house and demanded that he send the two men out so that they might “know them.” (Genesis 19:4-5) Today, the “LGBT” (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) organizations demand our laws be changed to accommodate their particular “lifestyle.”

I do not write about political issues, but as a Christian I must speak of moral and scriptural issues. The agenda of the LGBT activists is opposed to the standards set by the Holy Bible. As you may be aware, this week the Supreme Court of the United States ruled in favor of the LGBT activists.

But for all that we hear from television and printed media about “equality” and “civil rights,” there is something they are leaving out. Of course we know that the media only broadcasts news that fits their specific program. The slogan of the New York Times is “all the news that is fit to print.” Someone suggested that it should be “all the news that fits.”

The facts that have not been broadcast are that LGBT activists are not just in favor of same-sex marriages, they are for the destruction of the institution of marriage. As an example, last month Ryan T. Anderson of the Heritage Foundation debated Judith Stacey, a sociology professor at the NYU School of Law. Mr. Ryan quoted President Obama, who openly supports LGBT activists. However, Mr. Ryan pointed out that Obama used statistics to show how important it is that children have a father in their daily lives. Professor Stacey said that Obama was “dead wrong.” Further, she advocates polygamy and other forms of “marriage” that depart from long-held social standards in the western world.

Masha Gessen, another activist, said, “Fighting for gay marriage generally involves lying about what we are going to do with marriage when we get there — because we lie that the institution of marriage is not going to change.” Gessen also stated, “The institution of marriage is going to change, and it should change . . . I don’t think it should exist.”

Marriage is the basic building block of the family. The family is the basic building block of society. Why are socialists and LGBT activists trying to destroy that fundamental unit of society?
