The Bible prophesies a time when there will be one leader over a united world. All people will be subject to this one person, generally known as the Anti-Christ. “All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life . . .” (The Revelation 13:8) It is the “second beast”, or the associate of the Anti-Christ that “causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads . . .” (The Revelation 13:16) This is the infamous Mark of the Beast that is somehow related to 6 6 6.
While we normal people seek to honor the Lord, do our jobs, raise our families and mind our own business, not everyone thinks like that. Throughout history there have been egomaniacs who sought to control the entire world. Think of Alexander or Caesar or Napoleon or Hitler. To say that there is no such person existing today, plotting to rule the world, is not logical.
The outlook of people varies according to where they are on the economic spectrum. Amongst the very poor, people are paid by the day, buy their food by the day, and pay their rent by the day or week. The middle class in America operates on a monthly scale. They pay bills monthly. The very rich have a time perspective that is not monthly or even annually. At the top of the economic spectrum, the perspective is very long. They think in terms of generations.
For decades, generations, or even centuries, the elite of the world have sought to regain political control from the “people.” They would like to return to the “good old days” of the lord of the manor and his serfs. Remember the book Animal Farm by George Orwell, and the opinion of the pigs; “All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.” The elitists think that they are more equal than others. This elitist dream fits very well with the picture of a strong, central government as described in Bible prophecy.
Recently, there was a remarkable exhibition of the drive toward a One World Government. At the Group of Eight (G-8) meeting in L’Aquila, Italy, a world coin was presented to each leader. On the face it has “United Future World Currency” and on the obverse the proclamation of the politically correct, “Unity in Diversity.” The organization sponsoring this coin is utopian socialist in its nature. Its published manifesto declares the aim to “promote an increasingly equal distribution of the planet’s resources . . .” Equal distribution requires re-distribution of wealth, or socialized government.
The world is moving headlong toward a “unified” government, and the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. The elitists’ best efforts are to their own desired goals, but they are also achieving the goals of the Lord. May His name be praised forever.
