The Pentagon, a five-sided building housing the offices of the U.S. military, was conceived on a weekend in mid-July, 1941. It was needed because the military was out-growing its office space. This is interesting because America was not at war at that time. Pearl Harbor was attacked five months later in December. The five-sided design was used because the original planned location was bounded by five roads.
The proposed location was near Arlington Cemetery. President Roosevelt felt that the location would block the view of the Capitol from Arlington, so the Pentagon was relocated to the site of older, poor homes. Despite the change of location, the pentagonal design was retained. The name of the new location was Hell’s Bottom.
It troubles me that our nation’s military leadership is housed in a building reminiscent of a satanic pentagram, and is located at what was known as Hell’s Bottom. But there is more. Saturday of the weekend in mid-July, 1941 was July 12th. It was also Tammuz 17 on the Hebrew calendar. Good things never happen on Tammuz 17. One more thing – the ground breaking for the Pentagon was on September 11, 1941.
Jewish rabbis have noticed that the verses of the Old Testament seem to tie to historic events. An example is the 5,708th verse, which corresponds to the Hebrew calendar year of 5708. On our calendar the year is 1948, the year Israel was again established as a nation. The 5,708th verse is Deuteronomy 30:5, “Then the LORD your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it.”
Using this principle, I find the following disturbing verse for 1941 – Deuteronomy 29:27, “Then the anger of the LORD was aroused against this land, to bring on it every curse that is written in this book.”
Further, the Lord promises blessings for obedience in Deuteronomy 28:1-6. These verses correspond to the years 1847-1852, a period of expansion and prosperity in America. Following this are verses describing curses for disobedience in Deuteronomy 28:15-19. These verses correspond to the years 1861-1865, the time of the American Civil War.
We often wonder where America is in Bible prophecy. From the examples above, it appears that the Lord has accounted for the United States in His Word. On the sixtieth anniversary of the ground breaking of the Pentagon, it was attacked. At that time and continuing until today, the United States has been attempting to divide the Promised Land between the Jews and the Palestinians (who call themselves Philistines).
Here is what the Lord has to say in the verse corresponding to September 11, 2001, Deuteronomy 32:8, “When the Most High divided their inheritance to the nations, When He separated the sons of Adam, He set the boundaries of the peoples . . .” The Lord set the boundaries. Who are we to try to change them? I am concerned about America. Pray for America. Pray for the Church in America.
