WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT ?

Like Jesus, the Son of God, the Holy Spirit was with God from the very Beginning. The Holy Spirit is part of the God-Head. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is not as "visible" as God the Creator, or as Jesus when He came to earth to become our Salvation. In Hebrew the name of Jesus means "salvation". The Holy Spirit was promised by Jesus to His followers in John 14:15-18. The work of the Holy Spirit is described in John 16:5-15. One translation of the Bible calls the Holy Spirit the "Comforter". We are told that the Holy Spirit speaks to the Lord on our behalf when we are so troubled that we cannot express ourselves (Romans 8:26).

The Holy Spirit is described as the Lord's "earnest money" or "guarantee" toward the "inheritance" of Christians (Ephesians 1:14). The Church (Believers, not a building) has been blessed with the presence of the Holy Spirit since the Day of Pentecost when the Church was begun (Acts 2:1-41). There is a strong possibility that the Holy Spirit will no longer dwell on earth because the Church was called Home to be with the Lord (First Thessalonians 4:13-18). If this is the case, after this time life on earth will be even more difficult for those who become Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. May God be merciful to you.

The Bible is true and correct.
