The Lord Jesus said that there will be “fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.” (Luke 21:11) Recently, there was the grouping of four “Blood Moons” or lunar eclipses that occurred on Biblical feast days. They are referred to as Blood Moons because the moon appears to be slightly reddish due to the glow of the hidden sun. The previous last set of four lunar eclipses that occurred on Biblical feast days was in 1967. Before that was 1948 and previous to 1948 there were no such occurrences since 1492!
In 1967 the Israelis captured the City of Jerusalem. Prior to 1967 it was considered part of the country of Jordan. In 1948 Israel became a nation. In 1492 all Jews were expelled from Spain. The sets of four lunar eclipses on Biblical feast days mark some interesting dates!
The rabbis say that lunar eclipses are omens or portents for Israel. They continue by stating that solar eclipses are directed at the world.
A reasonably unique event will occur in the United States on August 21, 2017. A total solar eclipse will cross America from the Pacific Northwest to the Southeast. There have been partial eclipses of the sun in recent years, but a total eclipse that will be visible to so many people within the United States is unique. Some say that this will be the first total eclipse to cross the entire continent since 1918, almost one hundred years.
This interesting event is followed by another seven years later! On April 8, 2024 another total solar eclipse will cross America. This date in April 2024 marks the beginning of the Hebrew calendar for the year, and equates to Nisan 1. This is the beginning of the Hebrew year according to the instructions of the Lord. Please see Exodus 12:1-2.
What is more interesting is the fact that these two solar eclipses form an “X” over the very heartland of the United States. And again, it happens seven years after the first eclipse.
Remember, “fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.” Pray for the lost! Come quickly, Lord Jesus!
