The Destruction of Babylon
Because the Word of God is a unitary document and not a hodge-podge collection, it has symmetry. That which is opened in Genesis is closed in the Revelation. The Devil lied and caused man to sin in Genesis, and he is stopped and thrown into the Lake of Fire in the Revelation.
The first mention of a kingdom in the Bible is the kingdom of Nimrod. Kingdoms were not in the plan of God. Nimrod was a hunter and subjugator of men. His kingdom was in the land of Shinar (Genesis 10:10). The rebellious result of his kingdom is found in the account of the Tower of Babel in Genesis chapter eleven. This is the beginning of Mystery Babylon which has affected and misled mankind through the ages.
Just as the Trinity is composed of three parts, Satan the counterfeiter organized Mystery Babylon into three parts; Political, Commercial, Spiritual. These three parts are found in several places in the Bible, and are active today.
The plan of the Lord was for mankind to live independently and self-sufficiently in family units. The mighty nations that we see today and the wars that they cause that cost the lives of men, women and children demonstrate Political Babylon.
In times past, the Church was the most important organization. The bell towers of the churches in a town stood high above any other structure. Today, the tall office buildings have usurped the church bell towers, literally illustrating Commercial Babylon.
The lies of Satan that have resulted in numerous religions and the worship of numerous “gods,” divisions even within the Church, the body of Christ, and the open worship of the devil himself clearly demonstrate Spiritual Babylon.
Chapters seventeen and eighteen of the Revelation describe the fall of Mystery Babylon. In the Revelation 17:1, 4 and 6, she is described as a whore dressed as royalty and drunk on the blood of saints.
Mystery Babylon represents the unbelieving world. Four is the number of the world. There are four seasons; Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. There are four cardinal directions; North, South, East and West. The ancients described the world in four components; earth, wind, water and fire.
At the close of the Bible, Mystery Babylon will be no more. In fact, the phrase “no more at all” is found four times in the Revelation chapter eighteen.
“And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.” – Revelation 18:14
“And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.” – Revelation 18:21
“And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee.” – Revelation 18:22
“And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee.” – Revelation 18:23Mystery Babylon will be no more at all. Period.
And the Lord is the victor! Praise His wonderful name!
